This site is for all staff working in collaboration with Buckinghamshire schools – and beyond. A hub of resources, ideas and discussions for and by members of our school communities, it has been developed to create a sense of connection during these exceptional times but should evolve into a central platform for ongoing collaboration in our research and practice.

We have developed the site in consultation with educators across Buckinghamshire. This site is constantly evolving: please contact us with requests and suggestions for further content.

Where We Are

This is the biggest global crisis that any of us will ever know. The ramifications are huge and are likely to have a significant and lasting impact on our collective mental health.  All of the rules have changed; the routines and sense of daily ‘busy-ness’ that we have taken for granted have changed beyond recognition. The situation is changing daily and the vast majority of the changes are outside our control; decisions are being made for us, frequently with little time to act upon the implications. There are no certainties about when – or if – our ‘normality’ will be restored. This take a lot of digesting! The reality is that members of our community will get ill and members of our community will be touched by bereavement.

Individuals are likely to be experience some or all of the following: a sense of guilt or uselessness; frustration and anger; grief and acute concern for those who are more vulnerable, both amongst our loved-ones and within our learning communities.

Key Principles

Wellbeing and professional development are inextricably linked. Wellbeing is closely linked to professional integrity and self-efficacy – if we can take opportunities, where realistic, to build and develop our skills, to think and reflect on young people and how they learn, we have the potential to come out of this challenge stronger than ever. Many of our team members will have valuable skills and ideas they wish to share and contribute, from exercise videos to new skills to daily reflections
